Course description

Mentoring has been identified as being an essential yet complex ingredient for teacher professional learning and development for new and experienced teachers. Underpinning educative models of mentoring is the development of adaptive expertise that builds knowledge through evidence-informed inquiry. Emphasis is placed on catering for the diversity of learning needs throughout professional careers.

Course overview

This course is designed for teachers who are, or intend to be, mentors for pre-service, beginning and experienced colleagues. Focus is given to reflecting on and developing mentoring approaches and practices that demonstrate and develop effective professional learning, mentor-mentee relationships and adaptive expertise.

Currently scheduled classes

2021 Blended Online/Epsom (Semester 2): Selected evening sessions on Wednesdays on 28th July, 4th Aug, 11th Aug, 22nd Sept, 20th Oct, 3rd November from 4:30-7:30pm.
2022 Blended Online/Epsom (Semester 2): Online work, combined with scheduled classes on Wednesdays, 27 July, 3, 10 August, 21 September, 19 October, 2 November, 4:30-7:30 pm.
