Course description

Students will document and critically reflect on their teaching practice in the context of their discipline and institution, and the higher education literature on learning and teaching and academic citizenship, taking into account how they will exhibit both leadership through innovation, scholarship and collegiality, and an awareness of difference (gender, ethnicity, ability) such that their practice is culturally and individually sustaining.

Course overview

This course is designed to give you an introduction to reflective academic practice, learning and teaching in higher education, academic citizenship, and documenting your academic practice.
You will document and critically reflect on your teaching practice in the context of your discipline and institution. You will examine the higher education literature on learning, teaching and academic citizenship, considering how you will exhibit leadership through innovation, scholarship and collegiality, and an awareness of difference (gender, ethnicity, ability), such that your practice is culturally and individually sustaining.
