This three-day programme enables mentor teachers to support provisionally certificated teachers’ inquiry into effective practice. The programme examines the role and responsibilities of the mentor teacher. Participants will share experiences and challenges and work collaboratively towards finding solutions.
Over three sessions the programme will cover: · Your role as a mentor teacher · Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand updates · The standards for the teaching profession in induction & mentoring · Induction and mentoring programmes · Observation of practice and feedback to teachers · Undertaking learning conversations · Mentoring culturally responsive practice · Gathering evidence for registration · Ongoing mentoring and reporting, checking you are on track
