Description Teaching in a New Entrant / Year 0 class takes special skills. Whether you’re starting or currently working in a New Entrant/Year 1 class, this workshop is applicable to you.

It covers essential aspects such as structured literacy, relationship building, play-based learning, as well as systems, processes and routines to support effective teaching and learning.

At the completion of the course participants will:

· Develop their application of structured Literacy and phonics
· Engage with practices that build strong relationships and readiness for school
· Understand school entry expectations
· Learn how to structure the day – systems and routines
· Improve their knowledge of teaching reading, writing and maths
· Identify play-based learning strategies that can be used in the classroom
· Know how to improve the learning environment
